  SWEET-AND-SALTY CARAMEL POPCORN

  YOU NEED:

  • 4 quarts of popped popcorn

  • 1/2 cup of butter

  • 1 cup of packed brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup

  • 1/2 tsp. of salt

  • 3/4 tsp. of baking soda

  • A grown-up helper

  • A brown paper bag

  • Waxed paper

  1. Put the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt into a microwave-safe bowl. With the help of a grown-up, heat the mixture in the microwave for two to three minutes or until it's bubbling. Stir, then add the baking soda.

  2. Place the popped popcorn into the paper bag and have your grown-up pour the caramel mixture on the popcorn. Fold the top of the bag over several times, then shake gently!

  3. Once popcorn is thoroughly coated, have your grown-up pour the popcorn onto waxed paper, and spread it out with a spatula. Let it cool until the caramel is set, then enjoy your salty-sweet caramel popcorn!

  Yum, yum!
